Illustrations for In Transition

Since being an editorial cartoonist is my day job, it's nice to flex my artistic muscles and do illustrations from time-to-time. The illustrations above accompanied a n atmospheric piece about the colorful and adventurous life of a tanker truck driver written by Pulitzer-Prize winning New Yorker author John McPhee for In Transition magazine. No word yet of work from the New Yorker

When I get a copy of the layout, I'll post that too.

Tomine on The New Yorker

I don't know how many of you read The New Yorker, but this week's cover was done by one of my favorite artists, Adrian Tomine. Tomine produces one of the best comic books around for Drawn & Quarterly Publishing called Optic Nerve. His much awaited graphic novel (at least by me) called Shortcomings.
