He Could.....Go....All.....The.....Waaaaaayyyy!!!!
I have new cartoons over at PolitickerME and PolitickerNJ that I still have to post links to, but for now, for those of you who know who he is, enjoy this clip of Chris "Boomer" Berman, the man behind the man. It was posted over at Sports by Brooks, a great blog for sports-related news. Originally, there were three, but two of them have been taken down by the man. Here's the one that remains:
The sad thing is I love Berman, and I wish ABC never took over Sunday Night Football, b/c it means I have to get my football highlights from Chris Collinsworth instead of Berman and Tom Jackson on 'Primetime.'

Anyone want to voice their opinion on what it's about?
Killed Cartoon: Talk About Poor Timing
Click on image for full cartoonWell, I had planned to have this cartoon for all the Politicker sites today, but with Romney dropping out of the race, obviously it won't work. Check back later for a cartoon on Romney pulling out.
So the least I could do is share it with you guys. What's funny is I could replace Romney with Hillary and it'd work just fine.
And on top of it all, I can't believe Ron Paul outlasted Romney in this race. Maybe that could be an idea...

Super Tuesday Ends in a Draw
Click on image for full cartoonFrom Chuck Todd at MSNBC:
"It looks like Obama, by the narrowest of margins, won last night’s delegate hunt. By our estimates, he picked up 840 to 849 delegates versus 829-838 for Clinton; the Obama camp projects winning by nine delegates (845-836). He also won more states (13 to Clinton’s eight; New Mexico is still outstanding), although she won the most populous ones (California and New York). And Obama’s argument that he might be the most electable Democrat in a general election was bolstered by the fact that he won nine red states versus four for Clinton. Yet with Clinton’s overall superdelegate lead (259-170, based on the lists they've released to us), and when you toss in the 63-48 lead Obama had among pledged delegates going into Super Tuesday, it appears Clinton has about 70 more overall delegates than Obama does (1140-1150 for Clinton versus 1070 to 1080 for Obama). It’s that close, folks…"

Inevitability
Click on image for full cartoonWhat a game! WHAT A GAME!!! Man, that has to go down as one of the best Super Bowls in the history of the game!!!!
While I still have a sore-spot against the Giants for surviving against my Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV, I was more than estactic to see them upset the heavily favored and media-anointed Patriots.
Here's the play of the game, a 30-yard completion on 3rd down and 13, that kept the Giant's drive going in the final seconds of the Super Bowl, eventually leading to a game-winning 13-yard touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress. Jerry Izenberg at the Star-Ledger has a great summary of the drive here.
How close was the catch to hitting the grass?
Pretty f'ing close!
And lets not forget before the game, a cocky Tom Brady scoffing at Plaxico's prediction that the Giants would win, and hold the Patriots high powered offense to 17 points.
Plaxico ended up being wrong. The Giants didn't hold the Patriots to 17 points.
They held them to 14 points.

New Jersey: Winner Takes All
Click on image for full cartoonJohn McCain keeps riding the wave of his endorsements. In New Jersey, he's expected to join Rudy Giuliani at a rally in Hamilton on Monday, the day before the New Jersey presidential primary. Yesterday Rep. Frank LoBiondo endorsed McCain for the GOP presidential nomination. And today, PolitickerNJ is reporting that New Jerseyan Steve Forbes, a magazine publisher and former presidential candidate, will endorse McCain for President. Both LoBiondo and Forbes had been backing Rudy Giuliani.
Can you imagine how pissed off hard-core conservatives will be if McCain gets the nomination? Rush Limbaugh would have a conniption!

New Jersey: Happy Birthday Wally Edge!
Click on image for full cartoonOn February 1, 2000, PoliticsNJ entered the political blogosphere and became the must-read website for all New Jersey insiders. 8 years later, they're name has changed, they've spread to 10 states, and even hired a cartoonist :)
Here's what Wally Edge had to say:
"With grateful appreciation to our readers, thank you for a wonderful eight years. Hopefully the next eight will be equally as exciting. Of course they will: New Jersey never disappoints us."

New Jersey: Who is Wally Edge?
Today, “I am Wally Edge” buttons were handed out on the annual Chamber of Commerce train trip, and PolitickerNJ asked readers to take pictures with their cell phones and e-mail them. The winner gets an original political cartoon by yours truly. The pictures can be viewed here.
So who do you think is Wally Edge?
Cooking with Bill Belichick
Before he was the sleeve-cutting head coach of the New England Patriots, Belichick coached a team somewhere in Ohio, and spend his off-hours moonlighting as a chef. Maybe that can explain the lack of success there compared to what he's accomplished in New England.

Giuliani's Quest is at an End
Click on image for full cartoonWell, it's official. Mr. 9-1-1's quest to become the next President of the United States is over. His Florida plan has officially backfired, and he know will have to pick him self up by the bootstraps, or with the millions he makes doing public speeches and from his law firm.
And for those of you that are interested, here's Lou Gehrig's farewell address to Yankee's fans on July 4, 1939:
McCain Takes Florida
Click on image for full cartoonJohn McCain took command of the Republican presidential race last night with a huge win in Florida, another state primary that was only opened to conservatives.
However, when you have the Huckster siphoning off votes from Romney, I'm sure that helps.

Oregon: Steve Novick's Brilliant New Ad
For those of you that might not be familiar with Oregon politics, Steve Novick (born in Newark, New Jersey) is running in a primary against Jeff Merkley, the Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives. The winner of will go on to face Republican incumbent Senator Gordon Smith in the 2008 election for US Senate.
I've done some cartoons about this ongoing battle. Essentially, the Democratic Party is behind Merkley, and are trying desperately to get Novick, who was born with significant physical disabilities which include a missing left hand and missing fibula bones in his legs, out of the race.
Click on image for full cartoonHere's his new 30-second television ad, and I just have to say, it's brilliant!
