Can't Gonzo get some love?




Here's today's PolitickerNJ cartoon. I've been supportive of Chris Christie in the past, and his record of putting away corrupt politicians is admirable. He also has been one of the most popular Republicans in New Jersey, a reputation that has placed him at the top of the pack in terms of challenging Corzine (if he runs) for Governor in 2008.

However, this latest incident has shown a weakness in his armor. By picking Ashcroft, his former boss, to oversee Zimmer Holdings, a company that made a $311 settlement with the government over paying kickbacks to doctors to use its medical implants firm (and earning up to $52 million in the process), Christie is getting justifiably attacked by Democrats.

Finally.
