Click on image for full cartoonI'm sure Maine Rep. Troy Jackson means well, but his bill in the Maine Legislature that attempts to ban the sale of energy drinks to minors under 18 is just flat-out ridiculous.
First of all, a cup of coffee has twice as much caffeine as most energy drinks. Second, there is a multitude of bad choices for kids to make in regards to their diet.
Is he also considering banning the Xbox and Playstation, since it causes kids to exercise less and flop in front of the tv more?

Good grief! Someone needs to remind the government that their job isn’t to monitor every moment of our lives. People can make decisions on their own and they don’t laws for every little thing.
